Newcastle City Council Provides Support for "OLIVER"
Metropolitan Players was successful in getting support from Newcastle City Council through the Community Assistance Program for our season of "Oliver". The support is in the form of an in-kind subsidy for use of the Civic Theatre. The City of Newcastle's Community Assistance Program supports community efforts to maintain the strength and vibrancy of Newcastle's community and economy and express cultural values. Our production of "Oliver" is a totally local product with local actors, musicians and production staff and we are very grateful to the Council for their support.
You can go to the Visit Newcastle website to see the many other attractions and events that are available in Newcastle.
The advertising campaign for "Oliver" continues with a billboard at Broadmeadow outside the District Park Tennis Centre.

35th Birthday Function
Metropolitan Players will be holding a special function to celebrate our 35th birthday this year. It will be held at Memories Function Centre, 4-6 Charles Street, Wallsend on Saturday, 13th October. The cost will be $40 per person and this will include finger food throughout the night, sweets and tea and coffee and a souvenir engraved glass. Drinks can be purchased from the bar. The dress will be black tie - after five.
We would like to see as many past and present members, performers, orchestra and production crew and supporters who have been a part of the Company over the years and helped it grow and develop. It will be a great chance to catch up with old friends, look at photos from previous shows and swap memorable stories associated with the productions over the years.
If you would like to come along please give Julie a call on 49485568 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can get an idea of numbers. We will organise payment later in the year.
